If you want to start a Gurukula of your own or become an Acharya in a Gurukula, including at Vidyakshetra, this could be your preparatory journey.

To bring back the Guru Shishya Parampara and to return to Bharatiyata, we need Gurukulas and Acharyas.

First Step

Svavikasa Yojana

Adyetas participate in regular online Saturday Adhyayana Satras guided by senior Acharyas and mentors of Vidyakshetra.

We encourage a minimum of three months of participation in Svavikasa sessions to develop a mutual understanding. Only after this can one join the programme.

02 · Immersion

Vidyakshetra Anubhava

Held annually around the month of March, Anubhava is a five-day residential immersion programme at the Gurukula. These five days will be a deep dive into the Gurukula model of Vidyakshetra.

Adhyayana & Antarīkaraṇa

The Learning Phase

The Adhyeta can choose a Full Residential model or an Online + Onsite model for their journey.

They are expected to invest approximately daily 90 minutes every day, dedicated to building foundational knowledge in Bharathiya Shikha Granthamala Adhyayana, Bharatiya Darśana and Jīvana Dṛṣṭi, understanding the Gurukula Vyavasthā, overview of Vidyakshetra's curriculum and pedagogy, and Svavikāsa.

Prayoga & Sākārīkaraṇa

The Implementation Phase

This is the beginning of the contribution phase. Adyetas begin work on their Gurukula endeavour, join an existing gurukula, start a Maatrukulam, work towards developing educational models, Gurukula frameworks, writing, publishing and documenting knowledge, and contributing to existing Gurukulas and educational institutions.

In this phase, the Adhyayana deepens and Adhyetas take bigger responsibilities in the Acharya Vidyalaya Programme.

During these visits, Adhyetas get to observe classes in action, participate in sevas in the Gurukulas, attend sessions, and have interactions with Acharyas and mentors.

Throughout the three years, apart from 60–90 minute reading and learning, every week there is a discussion debrief session, Friday afternoon online training and Saturday morning online training.

Acharya Vidyalaya is a five-year journey through Adhyayana, Ātma-vikāsa, Anubhava and Sādhana, preparing Adyetas to become capable contributors to the Punar-nirmāṇa of Bharatiya educational and social institutions.
Adyetas first participate in Svavikasa sessions. A minimum of three months of participation is encouraged to develop mutual understanding. They may then participate in Vidyakshetra Anubhava. Adyetas who are ready for the next step are invited to become part of the five-year Yātrā.
Anubhava is a five-day residential immersion programme at the Gurukula, held annually around the month of March. It offers a deep dive into the Gurukula model of Vidyakshetra.
The programme is five years, divided into two parts: three years of Adhyayana & Antarīkaraṇa, followed by two years of Prayoga & Sākārīkaraṇa.
During Years 1–3, the Adhyeta can choose either a Full Residential model or an Online + Onsite model.
Adhyetas are expected to invest approximately 90 minutes daily in foundational learning and Svavikāsa, alongside the weekly discussion, debrief and online training sessions.
In the Online + Onsite model, Adhyetas come to the Gurukula three times a year for two weeks each in July, December and April. During these visits they observe classes, participate in sevas, attend sessions and interact with Acharyas and mentors.
Years 4–5 are the Implementation Phase. Adyetas begin contributing through Gurukula endeavours, existing gurukulas, Maatrukulams, educational models, frameworks, writing, publishing, documentation and other contributions.
Starting a Gurukula of your own is one of the possible directions described as part of the contribution phase of the journey.
Each Adhyeta evolves differently. Based on Svabhāva, Śakti and Ruchi, possible directions include becoming a Kulapathi, teacher and mentor, research scholar in the Bharatiya Jñāna Paramparā, or a Lekhaka.
